Listen up, boys! Those reds have been sinkin' their teeth in the mountain and the water of these parts for long enough! Their ranglin' of this fissure has gone on long enough. So we're movin' in and takin' over. We'll sneak into the fissure, build a small base from which we'll show 'em what's what! Besides, the stockholders want us to look all "green" even though I keep telling them we're not green, we're blue! YOU HEAR ME? BLUE!! SO GET OUT THERE AND BE TEAL!!! Don't forget to go hit the facilities before we get to all that running water, because we can't ALL be so lucky as to carry jars o' lemonade with us.

You know I remember greatriver as one of my favorite surf maps ever since I started surfing. Even though the majority of people would find excuses such as "it only takes like 10 seconds to surf to the end!" I would still find small maps with arena gameplay most enjoyable. When TF surf came out, greatriver worked so well with Team Fortress' gameplay, but it was a shame that it didn't take advantage of TF2's unique environments and style.

That was a while ago, since I started on this map many other versions of greatriver have converted it to use TF2's textures, but not quite its environment. This is just my take I guess. I purpously didn't change the gameplay too dramatically, even though there are some tweaks. Only thing about this map is you shouldn't play it with a full bladder.
